Two Economist Covers
Here's a recent cover illustration for The Economist. H.B. Hall's original engraving of Benjamin Franklin, based on an oil portrait by Joseph-Siffred Duplessis, is a thing of beauty when you start examining it closely enough to tinker with the expression. I hope he had a good optician.
Somewhat along the same lines, but a great deal cruder in execution, is this Trump face, which featured on The Economist's cover on the occasion of his first impeachment in December 2019. Both covers are art-directed by Graeme James.
